Breaking (not bad, but) the stereotype: California you may not have seen so far
With today’s exposure to American culture and the fact that certain images coming from the States are almost universally recognized, travelling to the US for most of us is a journey to the already known. However, there is much more to it than meets the eye.
Besides showing you what happens when you actually walk the Golden Gate Bridge or visit the Alcatraz prison, this talk will take you to the parts of California you probably are not familiar with. From Muir Woods to Mount Lassen comes the story about the (un)expected.
About the speaker:
US Department of State Alumna, Irena Pavlović is an EFL teacher and curriculum developer who participated in the SUSI (Study of the US Institutes) program in 2016. Having spent a month in Northern California, she got a chance to discover the part of the world she knew little of. More than two years later, she walks down the memory lane.
