Lana Deban, a sound engineer specialized in documentary forms and radio drama and a co-founder of book&zvook, an audiobook publishing company and the first service for listening to audiobooks in Croatian and related languages, will talk about her educational experience during her study in the U.S. and her professional life in Croatia.
The program is organized by American Corner Zagreb as part of ''Student Mobility: U.S. Perspective'', a series of monthly sessions by American Corner Zagreb supported by U.S. Embassy Zagreb.

About the Speaker
Lana Deban (1979) graduted from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA in 2003. In 2007 she completed her studies at SAE Institute. From 2003 until 2020 she has been working as a sound engineer and occasionally as an author at the Croatian Radiotelevision, specializing in documentary forms and radio drama. From 2009 until 2012 she co-edited Transonica, a radio programme dedicated to production of original radio work as well as adaptations of international documetary and experimental radio forms. Her work has been shortlisted and awarded at international festivals (2021 BBC Audio Drama Award Best European Drama, winner; 2020 Grand Prix Nova Short Form, second place; 2017, 2015 and 2007 Taktons Best Documentary Recording, winner; 2007 Prix Italia Works on Music, third place; 2005 Prix Marulić Best Radio Drama, third place). She taught courses on sound at The Academy for Drama Arts and The Academy for Visual Arts in Zagreb. She is a co-founder of book&zvook, an audiobook publishing company and the first service for listening to audiobooks in Croatian and related languages.
