From the Glades to Baltimore to the Bay-A Seminar on Maryland Geography

Sean Turner, BS from the University of Maryland-College Park, Double Major in Geographical Sciences and Government & Politics and a Master's student in the Department of Geographical Sciences​, will hold a lecture entitled From the Glades to Baltimore to the Bay-A Seminar on Maryland Geography.


Sean Turner, a BSOS alumnus who studied geographical sciences and government and politics during his undergraduate years, is now taking his area of interest to the next level, using his Fulbright award to research island policy in Croatia during the academic year 2016-2017.  Mr. Turner's research of the island policy in the Croatian archipelago explores how goals and strategies have evolved since Croatian Independence in 1992. He is working with Croatian scholars at the Institute of Economics and the University of Zagreb.

A series of travel lectures about the U.S. entitled ''Discover America'' by Croatian and American guest speakers are held every month at the American Corner's partner library, Knjižnica Augusta Cesarca, Šubićeva.
