Listen While You Read: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

The American Corner hosted a group of thirty-six eight grade students accompanied by their English teacher and a school librarian from Osnovna škola Brestje, Sesvete, on October 18, 2013. The field trip to the American Corner of the Bogdan Ogrizović City Library enabled students to participate in the Croatian Book Month through the orientation and reading program in the library. The American Corner coordinator introduced the important historic and literary figures who struggled against racism, inequality, intolerance, injustice and human suffering. The audio recording of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn with the simultaneous screen /e-book reading of the recorded text introduced the themes and characters of the American classic.
