Talib Karim manages a Washington, DC-based law firm that assists businesses and entreprenurs in resolving health, technology, and construction related legal issues. Talib’s firm also represents parents and children in family law matters. In addition, Talib writes on health and family law matters for local publications including the Washington Informer and Afro-American newspapers. Talib also hosts Family & the Law, a weekly talk show on WPFW-FM, which broadcasts to as many as 200,000 in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Talib has been active with DC Bar’s Health Law Section and the DC Affairs Sections. In addition, Talib is Vice Chair of the Health Law Section of the National Bar Associaiton and is involved with the Washington Bar Association. Talib’s advocacy has captured the attention of seveal media outlets including the Washington Post, Washington Examiner, and NBC4.

Jelena Šesnić is an assistant professor in the Department of English, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, Croatia. She teaches courses in American literature and culture, with special emphasis on nineteenth-century and US ethnic literatures. She has been awarded several grants (Fulbright, European Association for American Studies, JF Kennedy Institute library grant), and has contributed to Croatian and English-language literary journals. In 2008 she participated in Dartmouth Institute “Futures of American Studies.” Her research interests focus on recent methodologies in American studies, feminist and gender theory, and psychoanalytic and postcolonial approaches. She is a co-founder of the Croatian Association for American Studies, and is on editorial board of two journals of literary criticism and theory.

Srećko Horvat is a Croatian philosopher, journalist and activist. He published seven books (Against Political Correctness, Totalitarianism Today, The Discourse of Terrorism, etc.) and various articles published in Monthly Review, Le Monde Diplomatique, Eurozine, translated into German, French, Hungarian, Polish, etc. He is the director of the Subversive Forum, an annual conference and activist meeting held traditionally in May in Zagreb.
